On the 18th of December, 2006, Greg Perry (Director General, EGA) send a letter, adressed to Mr. Sergei Stanishev (Prime Minister of Republic of Bulgaria), Mrs. Meglena Kuneva (Minister of European Affairs), Mr. Kostadin Manev (President of Patent office of the Republic of Bulgaria), Mr. Olli Rehn (Commissioner, DG Enlargement) and Mr. Erik Nooteboom (Head of DG Market Unit 2).

With the letter EGA showed its concern about the attempted influence from the outside, made by employee of DG MARKT D.2, in the preparation of the new regulation for the Patent Law of Bulgaria, arranging the rules for extention of patents by Supplementary Protection Certificates.
